The Hope Now Alliance ws established to offer aide to the growing number of homeowners who are at risk of losing their homes. The partnership was promoted by President Bush, who mentioned it specifically in a December speech as part of his vow to take an active role in resolving the nation's housing crisis. The programe, however, has been receiving very negative feedback, plagued by insanely long wait times, difficuly getting through to a counselor, lack of follow-up on individual cases, confusion, and making minor loan modifications for those in trouble.

My friends have been telling me the same thing and it is so disappointing since people had their hopes up. It's nice that Connie is willing to try and help.

The whole thing is so confusing and changing almost daily. It is scary. I still see that real estate, if you can afford to buy and hold, is the best investment. Good luck Connie- this year should be especially challenging! Because I am a home owner in California, I want realtors to sell and sell at high prices!!!

It's going to take time to get out of this mess as it took time to create. Good luck to us all!

I just got into a new house last year. I am okay with my payments but prices have come down a bit. In the longrun I will be okay and that's what people should focus in on. Those that are now in trouble are in a hard place and I don't think that there is much anyone can do to immediately save people. Everyone must be personally responsible for saving themselves.
